Despite entering their first-ever continental adventure, Crystal Palace are adapting very quickly. Missing key players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and wing-back Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a commanding win that virtually secures them a spot in the Europa Conference League playoffs.
A further victory in their upcoming match against Finland's KuPS should be enough to seal direct entry to the knockout stages, particularly after a previous stumble against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Seize the Moment
This match provided a platform for several Palace's fringe talent to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning since joining on loan from Getafe, opened the scoring with a well-taken goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second consecutive succession.
A Shelbourne team that had concluded their domestic season proved no match against a largely rotated Palace lineup. The Londoners were already depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg injuries.

The match was effectively over eight minutes before half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past a series of weak challenges before calmly slotting a shot past keeper Wessel Speel to make it 3-0.
After the break, coach Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse came close to scoring with his very first touch, but saw his effort blocked.
Esse was incredibly unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off each posts before being gathered on the line. Uche then blazed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still room for improvement in his game.
The only worry for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, capping an otherwise positive evening for the visiting side.
