Two Detentions in the Aftermath of London Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

This incident caused the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport where 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, as stated by police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained for suspected conspiring to commit a robbery. They both are still being held, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a car park lift.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of robbery and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Police were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 parking facility for a short time.
